November 13th Announcements:
1. Good luck to the elementary boys basketball teams as they host Central Valley today in Hatton with games starting at 4pm.
2. Hockey practice will be in Mayville.
3. Wrestling practice will be in Portland.
4. Congratulations to Hatton/Northwood FBLA Chapter for being named Chapter of the Month for October, Alex Cole for being named the Region 1 FBLA Member of the Month for October and Mrs. Lorenz for being named Advisor of the Month for October.
5. FBLA members there will be a study night tonight from 5-7. Remember, you need to attend 2 to go to state.
6. Happy Birthday to Teegan Mastrud and Justin Nelson today!

3. Junior high boys: please sign up if you plan to play basketball.

The kindergarten, first grade, and fifth grade classes met their class reading goals for the October Reading Challenge. Their reward was Mrs. Strand, Mrs. Pawlowski, and Mrs. Braaten had to wear inflatable costumes! Thank you teachers for making the reading challenges fun!

Faye Duncan, the director of the Helping Hands Food Pantry in Hatton, visited our school on November 3rd to talk to students about the importance of our upcoming food drive. She explained how our project will help the community and shared ways students can get involved.
Mrs. Duncan spoke first with the high school students and then visited the elementary classes to encourage everyone to participate. To make things even more exciting, we’ll be having a competition between all grades to see who can bring in the most items! The winning class will enjoy a movie and popcorn party during one of their classes. 🍿🎬. Let’s all work together to make a difference for families in our community! 💙

We also had special guests from FBLA and the Hatton Helping Hands Food bank present. FBLA members, Abby Padilla, Izzy Padilla, and Bethany Parsons are using a food drive as their community outreach program for the FBLA State Competition.
